A 47-year-old man who appeared at Trim District Court on an assault charge has been sent for trial. Mathew Obasuyi, with an address at Distillery Quay, Mill Lane, Navan was charged with assault causing harm on another man at the Distillery Quay address on 25th May 2023. Garda Neary gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused who was then sent forward by Judge Eirinn McKiernan for trial at Trim Circuit Court on 27th January next.

Eleven people penalised at Trim District Court
Eleven people were penalised for a variety of offences at Trim District Court.
They were – (NA denotes no appearance in court) – Michael Stokes (43), Woodlands, Abbeycartron, Longford (vehicle tax, €250 fine); NA Simion Casian (24), Beach Lane, Portrane (insurance, €300 and disqualified for two years); NA Lee Fox, Garristown Orchard, Garristown (tax,€200); James Walsh (41), Four Winds, Drumlargan, Kilcock (intoxication in public, €105); Cameron Coyne (27), Kilbreena Crescent, Dunboyne (dangerously defective vehicle, 10 previous convictions including for possession of drugs, public disorder and no insurance, fined €500); NA Brendan Parsons (44), Brackenrainey Wood, Longwood (intoxication in public, €105); NA Chloe Carton (28), Palace Fields, Tuam, Co Galway (intoxication in public, €105); Estelkiane Siqueira Dias (38), Millbrook Apartments, Johnstown, Navan (insurance, €300); Nayara Oliveria (30), Duffy Apartments, Jervis Street, Ardee (insurance, €300); Johnny Joyce (30), St Columba’s Crescent, Navan (insurance, €200); NA David Stone, Assigh, Kilmessan (speeding, €150).

Arrest warrants were issued for the following who failed to appear in court to answer summonses –
Scott McGovern, Mine View, Navan (alleged possession of drugs); Maian Cristian Dobrota (32), Cherryhill Green, Kells (alleged theft at Applegreen, Navan); Catriona Mooney (37), Millteog, Trim (alleged intoxication in public).
