A charge of assault against Brian Peters, manager to boxer Katie Taylor, has been withdrawn. Mr Peters (55) from Ennistown, Kilmessan had been charged with assault against his brother Colum Peters at the County Club, Dunshaughlin on 29 th April 2024. The long-running case had been mentioned at a number of sittings of Trim District Court. There was a reference to the case on 3 rd June last year when Mr Peters, who manages a number of professional boxers including World Champion, Katie Taylor, was listed as an accused.

On that occasion his solicitor asked the judge to excuse his client’s absence and he was scheduled to appear back in court on 8 th July, three days before Taylor was to fight against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Gardens in New York.

When the case was again called today (Thursday 8 th Jan.’26)) at Trim District Court, Judge Eirinn McKiernan was told that the charge had been withdrawn and it was struck out. Mr Peters’ solicitor Paul Moore told the judge that there had been huge national publicity about the
case and it had been the first item on Google search. He wanted to make clear that Mr Peters was leaving the court without a stain on his character.
