A 69-year-old man who appeared at Trim District Court on charges of alleged sexual assault and causing a child to watch pornographic material has been sent for trial. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was served with a book of evidence by a detective in advance of the court hearing and that the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed that the accused go on trial or that he go forward to Trim Circuit Court on a signed plea of guilty.
He is accused of two counts of sexual assault and a third of causing a child to watch pornography on dates between 1 st April and 1 st September 2023 at a location in Meath. Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded the accused on bail to appear at the circuit court next week.
