Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following two road tragedies in the county Meath yesterday. A man in his 40’s died in the early hours of Thursday morning in a road collision on the M3 at Dunshaughlin around 2.00. Later in the morning, around 7.45, a woman in her 40’s was injured in another traffic collision on the N51, Boyerstown, Navan.
Fatal Road Traffic Collision, N51, Boyerstown, Co Meath, 12th March 2026
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N51 at Boyerstown, Co Meath, on Thursday 12th March 2026.Gardaí and emergency services responded to the two-car collision which occurred at approximately 7:45am.
A woman (aged in her 40s) who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to Navan mortuary and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has been notified.
A female juvenile (aged in her teens) who was a passenger in the same car has been airlifted to Children’s Hospital Ireland, Temple Street, for treatment of serious injuries. The driver and a third passenger (both female, no details on ages at this time) were brought by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda with serious injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The N51 at Boyerstown was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N51 at Boyerstown between 7:15am and 8:00am on Thursday 12th March 2026 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M3 at Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, on Thursday 12th March 2026. Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident, which involved a truck and a van and occurred shortly after 2:00am.
The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Navan mortuary and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has been notified The driver of the truck was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown as a precaution.
The northbound lanes between Junctions 5 and 6 were closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
