Meath…………….2-16
Galway……………2-15
In a hit BBC sitcom entitled Oh No it’s Selwyn Froggitt, the title characters catch phrase was ‘Magic our Morris’ and after a spellbinding 1-6 Meath fans can justifiably claim ‘our Morris was magic’ In post match interviews Robbie Brennan claimed Jordan Morris was unmarkable which is a bit like saying Michael Jordan was handy at the basketball.
Or to put it another way on the basis of this display the Kingscourt Stars man can start dusting down his tuxedo for the All Stars banquet.
And he won’t be short of company on the night as Ciaran Caulfield, Matthew Costello and Sean Rafferty all deserve a nomination at the least.

There were echoes of the Meath football DNA everywhere in this performance as skill, courage, a desire to win breaking ball and a determination not to be beaten saw them through. Donegal are next up and with the whole aura surrounding ‘Jimmy’s winning matches’ they’ll take some beating.
But Meaths very own auld Mr Brennan has been baking an ever rising loaf this season and the best may be yet to come. Put it this way Donegal won’t toast them.
