A 50-year-old man with a Co Cavan address who appeared at Trim District Court charged with alleged fraud on a company owned by Navan businessman Noel Moran and his wife Valerie has been sent for trial. John Kearney with an address at Ballinsheen, Blackrock, Co Cavan was charged with seven counts of fraud amounting to a total of €43,000 on Mr Moran’s firm eMoney Economy Merchants Solutions  Johnstown, Navan between 27th July 2021 and 29th July 2021. The amounts in the charges ranged from €652 up to €8,996.
One of the charges read that the accused had obtained a fraudulent refund for himself with the intention of making gain. Garda Alan Shine gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused. He said that the Director of Public Prosecutions had consented to the accused going forward to the circuit court on a signed plea of guilty. Judge Shalom Binchy issued an alibi caution to the accused and sent him forward for trial to Trim Circuit Court on 21st October next.
