Earlier today at the Pillo Hotel in Ashbourne a delegation of Chinese businessmen and officials from the Shanxi, a province in the north west of China, hosted a conference with over 50 invited guests. The delegation outlined their interest at looking at investing in Ireland. This visit is a fact finding mission to see if there are mutual benefits and opportunities. Cllr Joe Bonner was one of the invited guests and was asked to address the delegation.

He welcomed them and said it was always important to build good working relationships with all nations. He was keen to point out the many benefits of any future investments particularly, in Ashbourne and county Meath. He pointed out the opportunities that we have proven to other international businesses in the county and all foreign investment is welcome. He told, Meath Live that ”they had made a very professional presentation” and that this was a trip to see what options are available in Ireland and other parts of the EU.

With close proximity to Dublin, the airport, ports and infrastructure  Ashbourne is well located. With a young thriving and growing population, he was delighted they chose The Pillo Hotel on  their trip to Ireland.” Hopefully,we can build on this opportunity” Cllr Bonner concluded.
