A 55-year-old Nigerian native with a Navan, Co Meath address appeared at Navan District Court today (Friday) on a money laundering charge. Adewale Folarin, with an address at Dunloe Court, Windtown, Navan was charged with handling €21,553 suspected to be the proceeds of criminal activity on 12th March 2019.
Detective Garda Kathryn Christie gave evidence that she had arrested Mr Folarin at Dublin Airport on a European arrest warrant. She said that the accused had been flown in from Charles de Gaulle Airport in France. When charged with the alleged offence the accused made no reply. Defending solicitor Maurice Regan applied for bail but Garda Christie said she was objecting to this course on a number of grounds. Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded the accused in custody to appear by video link at Trim District Court next Tuesday.
