Meath East Sinn Féin TD, Darren O’Rourke, has extended his condolences to the families of the five young people who were tragically killed in a car crash in county Louth last night. He said; “I am utterly shocked and devastated to learn of the tragic deaths of five young people in a road collision in Gibstown, Dundalk, last night. My heart, and the hearts of the entire community in Meath, breaks for the families and friends of those who have been lost.
“This dreadful news has cast a deep and profound shadow across our community. To know that young people with their entire lives ahead of them have been taken from us in such a sudden and tragic manner is almost impossible to comprehend. There are simply no words that can adequately convey the depth of this loss.
“I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to the grieving families in Drumconrath, South Monaghan, Mid-Louth and Scotland. My thoughts are also with those injured in the collision, and I wish them a full and speedy recovery.
“In the face of this unimaginable tragedy, I know that our local communities will rally around the bereaved and the injured. We will offer whatever support, comfort, and solidarity we can in the difficult days and weeks ahead. We must stand shoulder-to-shoulder with these families in their time of immense grief.”
