Meath County Council has confirmed that it has received a taking in charge application for the Clooneen, Kilgraigue, Kilcloon estate but a Fianna Fail councillor has asked when remedial works will start there. The issue was raised by Cllr Caroline O’Reilly at the Ratoath Municipal District meeting this week. She asked officials to specify a projected date or timeline for when the necessary remedial works will commence and when the estate is expected to be formally taken in charge.

The cllr said that the issue had been lagging on and on for a very long time . She knew there was to be work to be done there but she wondered when a timeline could be given to residents. She was hoping their expectations could be managed. Officials said they would follow up on this issue. Separately, Sinn Fein Cllr Fionnan Blake asked for an update on proposed works at the Tara News junction on the Main Street in Dunshaughlin.

Independent Cllr Yvonne Everard asked if a location could be identified for the art feature located at Jamestown, Ratoath conditioned on planning permission RAI150993/PL17.247003. She said that 9- 10 years was a long time for the issue to be in progress. An official said the delay had been caused by a changeover in staff in the arts section. However, they did have the funding now and had gone through a process. The artist would start on the project very early in the New Year. Councillors would be informed when there was a defined programme of installation. The exact location hadn’t been decided on.
