There has been widespread sadness in Co Meath following the death of well known businesswoman Breda Lyons. Mrs Lyons (nee McMahon), resided at Tankardstown, Kells Road, Navan and formerly Farganstown. She died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda last Sunday.

She was the owner of Breda’s Boutique in Navan where she plied her trade for over 50 years, earning the respect and affection of a wide customer base throughout the region. There have been many expressions of tribute to her in the wake of her death, especially from those who appreciated her keen sense of business but also her humour. Breda was predeceased by her husband Noel, parents Joe and Bridget , brother John and sister Catherine.

She is survived by her children John, Clodagh, Brian and Kieran, grandchildren, brother and two sisters and extended family. She will repose at St Joseph’s Chapel of Rest, Johnstown Navan on St Stephen’s Day 26th December from 3pm with removal at 5.45pm to St Mary’s Church, Navan for Evening Prayers at 6.30pm.

Funeral Mass on Saturday morning (27th) at 11am. Removal afterwards to Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Louisburgh, Co Mayo for viewing on Monday (29th) from 12-1pm. Burial in Killeen Cemetery, Louisburgh, Co Mayo.
