To facilitate water main installation works, Meath County Council has granted temporary road closures at L-7410-0 Cregg and L-74033-0 Posseckstown, Nobber, Co. Meath. The road closures will be in effect from Monday, 05 January until Monday, 09 February 2026, for 24 hours per day. Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted. Local and emergency access will be facilitated at all times throughout the closure period.
John McElwaine, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, said, “The road closures are necessary to ensure the safety of our contractors, road users and the general public while works are underway. We acknowledge that these works may cause some disruption while in progress and thank customers for their patience.”

By securing a new groundwater source and enhancing the treatment facilities, we are ensuring a safe, secure, and resilient water supply for homes and businesses in Drumconrath and surrounding areas. This project not only supports compliance with drinking water standards but also lays the foundation for social and economic growth.”
Coffey Construction is carrying out the project works on behalf of Uisce Éireann, which are expected to be completed in late 2026. The current water scheme is included on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Remedial Action List (RAL), which identifies water supplies that need improvement.
