A 28-year-od man who has five previous convictions for driving without insurance has been told by a judge that he has no regard for the traffic laws. Thierno Amadiu Bah, with an address at Summerseat Green Summerseat, Clonee was before Trim District court on a charge of driving without insurance.

The court was told he had 17 previous convictions and his record was read to the court – 2020 no insurance fined €350, disqualified for two years; 2021 no insurance fined €300; 2023 No insurance fined €400; 2024 no driving licence fined €500, no tax €100; 2024 no insurance disqualified for four years and three-month suspended prison sentence + another insurance offence for which he was disqualified for five years and four months imprisonment.

A defending solicitor said that his client, who was a barman at Dublin Airport, had got rid of his car and would not be driving again. Judge Eirinn McKiernan said the defendant had absolutely no regard for the traffic laws. She sentenced him to six months imprisonment and disqualified him for six years.
