On Saturday 15 th August, as part of the John Boyle O’Reilly Festival, two bands will feature at Dolly’s Bar Marquee at Belfeddock, Slane. The Wednesday Gang is a popular seven-piece ramshackle folk-meets-rock ‘n’ roll band originating in Slane. Known for redefining the traditional pub band experience, they grew out of Wednesday night music sessions and now perform lively set featuring crowd-pleasers like “Fishing on the Boyne”, “Ride On”, “Waxies Dargle” and the “Auld Triangle”.

The Highstool Prophets are a popular five-piece Irish folk and country band from county Cavan known for energetic live performances and foot-stomping anthems. Its members are Kevin Meehan, Niall Carolan, Jason Brady, Pat Tierney and Stephen McCaffrey. They were named “Best Folk Band 2025” a the Irish Entertainment Awards. This will be a sell-out gig and early booking is advised on Eventbrite or at Dolly’s Bar. An admission fee of €30 covers both gigs.
