Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Johnsbrook, Fordstown, Co Meath, yesterday, 22nd September 2026. At approximately 12.30pm Gardaí and emergency services responded to a collision involving a lorry and a car.
The male driver of the car, aged in his late teens, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary in Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan where a post mortem will take place in due course.
The male driver of the lorry received medical attention at the scene. The N52 road is closed between the junction of the R154 towards Killua, to allow for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N52 between Fordstown and Clonmellon between 12pm and 1pm Tuesday, 22nd September 2026 are asked to make this footage available to the investigating Gardaí.
