Scammers have been going around houses in Ashbourne claiming to be collecting donations for the local St Vincent De Paul charity group.
The SVP have told Meath Live, “Someone is collecting as Vincent de Paul and its a scam. Gardai are aware of this. No one from our conference is collecting door to door or anywhere else as we did postal appeal.’
The usual warning applies, if anyone claiming to represent a charity group calls to your door ask to see both ID and a permit and if needs be tell them you are calling the charity to check.
