The occupants of a house in the Cois Glaisin estate in Johnstown, including an infant child, cowered in terror last Sunday night as a number of masked men armed with hammers smashed up the property, breaking a number of windows in the process.
One source told Meath Live that it appears the thugs initially attacked a different house.
They said,’Â Two men wearing balaclavas tried to force their way into a family home with an infant present. Another house was also attacked by the raiders with the front windows being put through around the same time.
‘It seems they attacked a different place first.
‘A few weeks ago a number of cars were damaged in the same area and there are fears locally that some sort of feud is going on although that is highly unlikely.’
A Garda spokesperson told Meath Live, ‘Gardaà are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred at a residential premises in the Johnstown area, Navan, Co. Meath at approximately 8:30pm on Sunday 8th January 2023.
‘No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.’
