Now in this weather the closest anyone should get to water is if it is flowing from a tap.

But there are hardy souls out there who go swimming in all weathers.

However be aware folks be aware,

Meath County Council have advised the public not to swim at the beaches in Laytown/Bettystown after bathing water sampling taken yesterday(Tuesday,25th July’23), indicated poor water quality.

The council says it is likely because of a higher level E Coli following the weekends rainfall levels.

The public are advised to stay out of the water until re-sampling results indicate satisfactory water quality which the local authority say could be two to three days.
