Navan RFC Senior Women’s player Allie Flynn proudly represented Ireland this past weekend as part of the Ireland Mixed U20s Touch Rugby team at the 2025 Atlantic Youth Cup, held at the University of Limerick Arena. Organised by the Federation of International Touch (FIT) in partnership with the Ireland Touch Association (ITA), the Atlantic Youth Cup brings together national teams from across the globe to compete in seven underage categories (U15–U20, Male, Female & Mixed) in the fast-paced format of Touch Rugby.
First Cap for Ireland
This was Allie’s first time representing Ireland, marking a significant milestone in her sporting journey. Despite being relatively new to the game of Touch, Allie’s solid foundation in full-contact rugby—developed through years of playing at Youth and Senior level with Navan
RFC—helped her transition and thrive on the international stage.
Impressive Tournament Run
Ireland’s Mixed U20s were dominant through the group stages, finishing the Round Robin undefeated, including three wins in a single day on the first day of the tournament. Allie contributed three separate scores in seven appearances in a series of memorable victories over Scotland, South Africa, and England. Ireland progressed to the final undefeated, but narrowly missed out on the title in a dramatic clash against England.
