A 42-year-old man who appeared at Trim District Court on a charge of alleged sexual assault in a Co Meath town has been sent for trial. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons but has an address at Shenzen City, China is accused of sexual assault of a Chinese female at an address at Johnstown, Navan on 30th December 2023.
Garda Alan Shine gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused. Judge Catherine Hayden issued an alibi warning to the accused and she then sent him forward for trial at Trim Circuit Court on 21st of October next. He was remanded in custody with consent to bail. The court was told that bail with conditions had been fixed at €20,000.
