People interested in putting their names forward as potential candidates in the presidential election in November will be given the opportunity to lobby councillors of Meath County Council next month. The council said today that a special meeting would be arranged for September so that potential candidates can meet or contact councillors on the issue. However, the meeting will not be arranged until the Presidential Order is signed. Potential candidates can get a nomination if they can persuade four county councils to back them.
