Report Paul Murphy
An Athboy councillor has told a meeting of the Kells Municipal District that he was not happy with an official response received over road safety issues at Caucestown on the N51. David Gilroy said that in an email to councillors following request for an update on the situation
there they were told that a typographical survey had been carried out and funding had been sought from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). He said the funding had been sought for safety work which “might” involve certain measures.
He could not understand why a response would come back with the word “might” in it. “That is not a response, in my opinion. I think we will need further clarification on that. I don’t think that is an appropriate answer.” Officials at the meeting said they would seek clarification on the issue.
