A 39-year-0ld man with an Athboy address who was said to have three previous convictions for driving without insurance has been jailed. Szczepan Napierala, Ballyfallon, Athboy appeared at Trim District Court on the latest charge of being uninsured. Court Presenter Sergeant Peter Clarke said that defendant’s offending started in 2017 when he was fined €500 for having no insurance.

In 2018 he was disqualified for a year for having no insurance and on that occasion he was also disqualified for four years for drunken driving and in 2021 he was fined €400 and disqualified for four years for being uninsured. Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed four-month prison sentence and disqualified defendant for si years.
