A late try from Skerries’ Mikey Sherlock denied Navan RFC their first win of the AIL Division 2B campaign, as both sides shared the points at Balreask Old. Navan started brightly, with an early penalty from Mark Farrell followed by a converted try from Gary Faulkner. Skerries captain Kevin McGrath crossed for the visitors, but Navan responded through Mark Coen to lead 15–5 at the break.
The visitors were reduced to 14 men late in the first half, but Navan could not capitalise as Harry Hester saw yellow early in the second period. Skerries took advantage, with tries from Jack Litchfield and Sherlock, alongside two key kicks from Ronan Mulcahy, levelling the
score. Navan captain Conor Hand added his side’s third try midway through the half, but the visitors’ late surge secured a dramatic draw.

Navan’s Men’s J1/2nd XV recorded a strong home victory over Skerries on Saturday afternoon at Balreask Old, running in six tries to claim a 36–19 win. The hosts produced a composed and balanced display, controlling territory and possession for long spells. Despite Skerries’ efforts to rally in the second half, Navan’s attacking shape and defensive discipline ensured a well-earned result. The victory moves Navan up the Premier 2 table and builds momentum as the season progresses.
