What an action shot! The picture was sent to us by Galway man now based in Leixlip. He and his friends spent the weekend at the races in Czech to get a flavour of the famous steeplechase there. Above Final Orders clears a particularly daunting fence on his way to victory at Velká Pardubická on October 11, 2026. He won the prestigious Czech steeplechase by half a length under jockey Keith Donoghue, giving Gavin Cromwell back-to-back wins in the race following Stumptown’s previous success. And adding to his good fortune they had a punt on the winner.
In Ireland we are now full steam into the steeplechase season with plenty of action in the offing. Navan Racecourse is getting ready ready for its own big weekend, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November featuring the renowned BAR 1 Betting Troytown Chase, the BAR 1 Betting Fortria Chase and the Grade 2 Railway Bar Lismullen Hurdle.
