The Status Yellow Weather Warning for wind and rain in Meath has now passed, with no major incidents reported in the county overnight or this morning following Storm Claudia. Meath County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met a number of times over the course of Friday and Saturday, and ensured sandbags, pumps and necessary resources were in place for the weekend, particularly in areas deemed high-risk for flooding. A large number of gullies were also cleared.
In the last 24 hours, there have been a number of reports of fallen trees which have been cleared, in addition to reports of localised flooding, which are currently receiving attention. The Meath County Council Fire and Rescue Service and Outdoor crews remain in place over the course of the weekend, and the Council will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Ongoing updates on any road closures, fallen trees or flooding have been posted on our social media channels, and this will continue over the weekend.
