An independent councillor has called on the Ratoath areas manager to initiate the preparation for construction and funding of the link road between Ballybin and Moulden Bride Estate that was zoned and outlined in the 2001 Development plan map. Cllr Nick Killian said this objective would provide an additional access point to alleviate traffic coming through Ratoath village and onto outer relief road to Fairyhouse Road in an environmentally sustainable manner.
He had a notice of motion to that effect tabled at the recent Ratoath Municipal District meeting. He said the Ballybin road was an extremely busy road and now they were going to have a new road at Foxlodge estate which would bring traffic out onto the road on the way into the village. What was really needed was an outer relief road. He was “sick and tired” raising the issue of traffic going through the village, he said.
