A 22-year-old man with a Navan address “foolishly” got involved in a money laundering operation his barrister told Trim District Court. Paul Noctor was representing Kazper Kaczmarczyk of Dunville House, Navan who was charged with money laundering at an unknown location within the State on 22 nd November 2022.

The court was told that the total involved in the offence was €4,750. A total of €3,500 was transferred by the defendant to an unknown person. Barrister Mr Noctor said his client regretted getting involved in what was a foolish exercise. Judge Eirinn McKiernan directed defendant to engage in a restorative justice process and put the case back to 2nd May next.

Abusive To Gardai During Welfare Check

A couple who became abusive to gardai while they were carrying out a welfare check at an Ashbourne apartment complex appeared at Trim District Court on public order charges Derek Davis (38) Killegland House, Ashbourne and Debbie Long (36), Milltown Road, Ashbourne were
both charged with threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour at Killegland House on 7 th April last.
A Garda told the court that both defendants were abusive and had to be arrested at the scene when Gardai went to Killegland House for a welfare check. Derek Davis had tried to obstruct an arrest. The male person had 57 previous convictions including trespass, intoxication in public, theft, obstruction and assault while Debbie Long had 12 previous convictions, four of them for public disorder. Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed fines in each case of €150.

Woman (25) For Trial On Assault Charge

A 25-year-old woman with a Dublin address who appeared at Trim District Court charged with assault in Kells has been sent forward for trial.
Jessica Campbell of Woodbine Park, Raheny was charged with assault causing harm to another person at the Keltic Bar, Headfort Place, Kells on 26 th January last year.
Garda McMahon gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused. After issuing an alibi caution to the defendant Judge Eirinn McKiernan sent the accused forward for trial, granting her free legal aid in the form of a solicitor and one barrister. The accused was represented in court by barrister Paul Noctor.

Navan Man (31) For Trial On Drugs Charge

A 31-year-old man with a Navan address who appeared at Trim District Court on a drugs possession charge has been sent for trial. Daniel McManamy with an address at Troytown Heights, Navan is accused of possession of drugs for sale or supply at Troytown Heights on 30th September last year.
Detective Garda McGarry gave evidence of having served a book of evidence on the accused. Judge Eirinn McKiernan issued an alibi caution to the accused and then sent him forward for trial at Trim Circuit Court on 28 th April next. Solicitor Miriam Regan represented the accused in court.
