In an update on the activities of Meath Women’s Caucus Cllr Maria Murphy told Meath County councillors that in order to promote women’s health the caucus had taken part in an online conversation on Monday 9th March last. The event was open to councillors and staff and was very successful and participants felt it might be worthwhile arranging another session in the future.

The caucus has also been engaging with the AILG (Association of Irish Local Government) on how it could engage with the regional caucus. The Ailg has recommended expanding regional caucuses. It would be intended that Meath would form part of a regional caucus.

The first national meeting of the women’s regional caucus took place in April at Tipperary County Council offices in Nenagh. That meeting was well attended, Cllr Murphy said. The network is open to 250 female councillors nationwide.
