Meath trainers Gordon Elliott and John McConnell have saddled the winners of the first two races at Aintree this afternoon.
‘Geri Colombe’ ridden by Davy Russell landed the opening Grade 1 Midway Novices Chase for Summerhill based Elliott while Stamullen trainer McConnell landed his first ever win at Aintree with 8/1-shot ‘Fennor Cross’ taking the William Hill Handicap Hurdle with Ben Harvey onboard.
