NAVAN LOSE IN TIPPERARY

In a competitive encounter at Spafield in Tipperary, Cashel secured a convincing 32-18 victory over Navan in this Energia All-Ireland League Men’s Division 2A Round Seven fixture.
The home side wasted no time making an impact, claiming an early lead with a well-struck penalty goal in the first 12 minutes, putting them 3-0 ahead on the scoreline.
A couple of minutes later though, Navan responded with vigor as Peter McEntaggart scored a try, putting them ahead 5-3. The conversion attempt, however, went wide.
Ten minutes before half-time, McEntaggart continued to shine, crossing the line for his second try of the match. Navan extended their lead to 12-3.
Cashel fought back with determination, securing their second penalty goal, narrowing the gap to 12-6. Navan faced a temporary setback as they were reduced to fourteen players following a yellow card from the referee.
Just before the end of the first half, Cashel displayed their resilience, scoring an unconverted try. The halftime score stood at Navan 12, Cashel 11.
Shortly into the second half, Navan faced another blow as they were reduced to 14 players with a red card. Capitalizing on the numerical advantage, Cashel struck back with a converted try, taking the lead at 18-15.
On 55 minutes, Navan managed to level the scores at 18 points each with a well-executed penalty goal.
The momentum swung back in Cashel’s favor as they surged ahead with two more tries, securing a bonus point in the process. The final scores read Cashel 32, Navan 18.

Navan RFC’s next challenge awaits them in Round Eight as they face UL Bohemian’s in their last game at Balreask Old for this calendar year. The clash promises to be a pivotal encounter as both teams look to make their mark in the league.
