Nick Killian has been elected as Cathaoirleach to Ratoath Municipal District today 27th June

by five votes to two in a contest with Gerry O’Connor. Pictured above (centre) at the recentĀ 

Count in Simonstown GAA Centre.

He was first elected as a member to Meath County Council back in 1999 and will bring hisĀ 

experience in that time for the benefit of his local area.

He said he wanted to thank his fellow councillors for their support. He went on to say

”In the main we tend to get on well with each other , there will be disagreements from time to time.

Its were we do our work and deal with the issues of the day. there’s a lot of building going on in our area.

We’ve got plenty of advice from our constituents over the last few months so we know what they want.

Leas Chathaoirleach Caroline O’Reilly was elected 5 votes to 2 as well. Maria Murphy had nominated Gerry

O’Connor for both positions. She also thanked her fellow councillors for the opportunity in taking up the

position, pictured above on the announcement of her election this June.
