There is always a surprise or two at the races, no more so than today at Galway.

In the second race the Meath trainer, Michael Mulvany produced just that,

returned at 50/1 !

Early prices on Bessie Abott traded at 66/1. It was a delighted Wesley Joyce who

gave the winner a peach of a ride up  inside the the last few  furlongs coming of the pace and

finding the pathway opening up. The bay filly has a good pedigree and is a half sister

to three winners.

It was fitting the young amateur got his win, having suffered a terrible fall and

injuries at Galway. He is still struggles with his speech, thankfully he is racing fit.

The Oristown based Mulvany’s are no strangers to Ballybrit and are known

for their integrity in the racing game.

As a small stable they certainly know how to get winners in a highly competitive

industry. Meath trainers are having a good week thus far at the festival.
