Four men who had been arrested by Gardai on Thursday appeared before Judge Deirdre Gearty at Navan District Court. A 37-year-old man with a Navan address appeared in custody charged with a breach of a protection order at Wilkinstown, Navan yesterday. He cannot be named for legal reasons. Garda Tracey Leech gave evidence of arresting the accused who made no reply when charged. The judge remanded him on bail to appear at Trim District Court on 11th March next.

Separately, Ciaran McConnell, Myff Crescent, Nobber appeared on a charge of alleged theft of a jacket, an insurance document, and €012 cash the property of a woman at Main Street, Mullagh on 29th September last. Garda Michael O’Hanlon gave evidence of arrest. The accused was remanded on bail to Cavan District Court on 13th March next. Solicitor Maurice Regan represented him in court.

Andrew Faulkner (32), Old Mill, Rivermill View, Navan appeared on a charge of having in his possession at Market Square Navan on 20th February a screwdriver that had been altered to have a blade or was sharply pointed. Garda Burke Navan gave evidence of arrest. He was remanded on bail to Trim District Court on 11th March next. The following conditions on his bail were agreed to by the accused through his solicitor Maurice Regan – sign on at a Garda station once a week, have no contact with his neighbours, remain sober.

Costel Mihalcea (33), Castle Road, Saggart, Dublin and also of Castledermot was charged with having no driving licence at Ratholdron Road, Navan on 20th February 2025. Garda James Clarke Navan gave evidence of arrest. The accused was remanded on bail to Trim District Court on 11th March next.
