A 42-year-old man with a Polish address who was charged with trying to evade liability for a road incident in which an 81-year-old man died has been sent for trial. Piotr Broniarczyk, with an address at Wrzesnia, Gnieznienska, Poland was alleged to have been involved in injury to Edward McLoughlin, Toolistown, Trim with a motor vehicle at R156 Batterstown, Boardsmill, Trim on 12th September 2025 and that he tried to escape civil or criminal liability following the alleged incident. Sergeant Eoin Treacy told Trim District Court that he had served a book of evidence on the accused. Judge Eirinn McKiernan issued an alibi warning to the accused and sent him forward for trial at Trim Circuit Court on 27th of this month.
