Uisce Éireann is progressing a project to deliver a significant upgrade to Drumconrath’s water supply. The upgrade involves the inclusion of a new raw water source at a groundwater well site located in Posseckstown, and the development of a new water main to take raw water from the new source to the water treatment plant. The existing treatment facilities will also be upgraded at the treatment plant, which supplies over 1,200 customers. This multi-million Euro investment will improve the resilience of the water supply for homes and businesses in Drumconrath and surrounding areas.

EXTENED ROAD CLOSURES

To facilitate water main installation works, Meath County Council has granted an order to extend the temporary road closures at L-7410-0 Cregg and L-74033-0 Posseckstown, Nobber, Co. Meath. The road closures will be in effect from Monday, 09 February to Monday, 23 February 2026, for 24 hours per day. Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted. Local and emergency access will be facilitated at all times throughout the closure period.

John McElwaine, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, said, “The extended road closures are necessary to ensure the safety of our contractors, road users and the general public while works are underway. We acknowledge that these works may cause some disruption while in progress and thank customers for their patience.”

Coffey Construction is carrying out the project works on behalf of Uisce Éireann, which are expected to be completed in late 2026.
