”Breakthrough for EU Inc.! A win for business, our Single Market, European competitiveness and our shared prosperity!” are the calls made by Thomas Byrne Minister of State for European Affairs and Defence and T.D., Meath East this week as an opportunity for all businesses competing in the EU single market.
Under the Irish Presidency, the Council today adopted its position on a new corporate legal framework to facilitate cross-border business and investment, particularly for startups and scaleups.
Under the agreement, companies will be able to choose between the existing 27 national corporate law regimes and this new 28th – known as the “EU Inc” – regime. Companies that choose to operate under this framework, will be able to register online within just two days, at a maximum cost of €100. They will be known as ‘EU Inc.’ and will be able to operate across the entire EU single market.
”I join with the Taoiseach in strongly welcoming this agreement, which is a key deliverable under the Irish EU Presidency, in working to boost our competitiveness and future prosperity.” he commented.
