Generous tributes were paid by councillors of the Ratoath Municipal District to Meath County Council senior executive engineer Philip Traynor who is moving on to another position in the council. Cathaoirleach Cllr Brian Fitzgerald thanked him for his service to the district. “Thank you most sincerely and I know the members all feel the very same way about your contribution to this area. You cooperated with us through some difficult times with very few staff but at the same time getting as much work done as possible. We are sorry to see you go, quite frankly because we had a good working relationship with you. We had our disagreements, we had our arguments but at the same time you did your best for us at all times. I would like to wish you well to wherever you are going within the county. Whoever is gaining you, it’s their gain and our loss”. This was followed by a round of applause from the councillors present. “He’s been such a good guy to all of us. You have done the State some service”, Cllr Nick Killian said.
