A 22-year-old man with an address in Ashbourne who appeared at Trim District Court charged with alleged money laundering has been sent forward for trial. Hadi Shonibare of Churchfield in the town was charged with alleged offences in August of 2022. He was served with a copy of the book of evidence and Judge Eirinn McKiernan acceded to an application to send him forward for trial at the next sitting of Trim Circuit Court. The judge directed that copies of interviews be provided to the accused’s legal team and she remanded him on bail to the circuit court.

IN ANOTHER CASE MAN CHARGED TO FACE TRIAL

A 41-year-old man with a Dublin address has appeared at Trim District Court charged with alleged blackmail and extortion more than two years ago. Simon Gentles of Oakview Lawn, Hartstown was charged with the alleged offence at The Court, Luttrell Hall, Dunboyne on 1 st February 2024. The court was told that the Director of Public Prosecutions and directed that the case proceed by trial on indictment. Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded the accused back to the same court on 16 th July for the preparation and service of a book of evidence.
