A 21-year-old man who pleaded guilty to driving without insurance has incurred an increased driving ban at Trim District Court. Aaron Butler of Foxhaven, Forde de Fyne, The Naul, Co Dublin admitted driving without insurance in a prosecution brought by Garda Burke. The defendant also admitted driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Court Presenter Sergeant Declan Brady told the court that defendant returned a blood/alcohol reading of 150/100 after being stopped by Garda Burke. He had previous convictions for driving without insurance and for dangerous driving. He had been disqualified from driving for two years in 2024.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan fined the defendant €300 and disqualified him from driving for four years on the insurance charge and took the drunk-driving charge into account.
