We have eight races to look forward to today at Navan, which hosts three maidens and five handicaps across the early evening. Read on for a preview of and tips for the Navan card, brought to you by BetVictor Online Casino.
We begin with a five-furlong maiden for two-year-olds (16.07). We have three non-runners now, but this hasn’t affected the betting market too much. We are left with three newcomers and five with pre-existing form. Bit Of A Buzz brings some of the best form but hasn’t shown enough to win a maiden yet, and a newcomer wouldn’t need to be a world beater to win this. Gus McCrae was an inexpensive purchase but the booking of Colin Keane is eye-catching.
Next is a five-furlong handicap (16.38). Bad Boy Rizz is on a nice-looking mark now and could factor, but Prairie Girl looks competitive too and has seven pounds given by her rider. Beach Barbie is interesting here, making her handicap and turf debut at the same time. She could be worth an each-way.
Race three is a two-mile QR handicap (17.08). Timurshah has recently completed a four-timer over hurdles and makes his Flat handicap debut here, having last run under this code in 2024 maiden company. He is probably best watched here. Cala Cracioneta might be good, but Not Just Any Eagle has a solid chance now, particularly as he is given seven pounds by his rider.
A mile three-year-olds’ maiden follows (17.40). With some nice form on show this could be a good race, and there some interesting newcomers debuting here too, the most exciting of which appears to be Riyazanka. This Aga Khan-owned filly is a daughter of Siyouni out of a Sea The Stars mare. Jessica Harrington’s Resurgence looks a danger, though, as does Chapel Lane, but the lesser-exposed Aga Khan filly Emiza might be the one to side with here due to having plenty of potential on paper and should continue to improve.
Next is the first division of a mile handicap (18.10). Perfect Judgement ran a good race last time and still should be able to get involved a pound higher in the weights this time. Giselles Defence might appreciate the step back down in trip, but Land Of The Giants makes some appeal now on a new low mark. He is nicely enough drawn in six and could be capable here.
In the second division (18.40), there is a lesser concentration of encouraging recent form and there is little in the way of attractive participants. Suerte might be capable, after getting close enough on a couple of occasions this term, while Usario Amigo could also get involved. Micasso won a race in July but tends to be unreliable. Thompson Gunner is more consistent but is possibly shy of his best over this trip.
Second to last is a mile handicap (19.10). Ger Lyons’ Daler looks a possibility but tends to be better over longer distances. Zaraahmando might be able to pick up another place, having remained outstandingly consistent so far this term, while No More Porter makes some appeal after a good third of 10 last time. Marmeladova looks overpriced here, though, and could have at least an each-way chance on an attractive mark.
Our last race is a 10-furlong fillies’ maiden (19.40). Mawhibah has shown some ability so far and could improve once again, while Serendipia could have a nice chance of a place at least here, while Sunatia improved hugely last time and could factor again. Fairylike will attract plenty of attention for Ballydoyle after a promising debut.
