Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir returns across Ireland for its 21 st edition. Taking place on Friday 18thSeptember, this year’s Culture Night will follow last year’s extraordinarily successful night, which saw more than 1,800 free events take place across Ireland. The evening is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today. At the heart of Culture Night is the ethos of One Night for All. Whether planning a full evening of events, joining something nearby on the night, bringing family and friends along, or seeing a familiar place in a new way, people across Ireland are invited to take part and connect through culture.
Supported by Local Authority Arts Offices in partnership with the Arts Council, Culture Night sees venues all over the country open their doors, with free events programmed from 4pm till late. Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir in County Meath will be celebrated with a bumper programme of events throughout the county – music, dance, visual art, literature, exhibitions, theatre, poetry, storytelling, cinema, workshops, talks and cultural exchange between communities.

In LAYTOWN – an Open Rehearsal & Introduction to Julianstown Youth Orchestra – Julianstown Youth Orchestra (JYO), renowned for its exceptional performances and dedication to nurturing young musical talent, invites young musicians (ages 8 – 18) and their parents/guardians to an OPEN REHEARSAL on Culture Night. Beginner musicians will be introduced to the orchestra and will attend
an Academy rehearsal with tutor Maia Matthews. Players with grade 3 experience can attend a Senior rehearsal with tutor Lorcan Daly. No preparation is needed but if players have an instrument and music stand, they may bring them along. A display of instruments for rental will be on display. JYO members will demonstrate the instruments during the evening. All welcome! In ATHBOY – Paint Together: Art, Music & Connection – Creative Connect Group is a free, welcoming Culture Night event bringing together visual art, live music and community participationat St. James Hall, Athboy. The evening will feature a step-by-step painting workshop led by
professional artist Nataliia Aleksieienko, with all materials provided and no previous experience required. Participants can take their paintings home. Live music and a small art exhibition will create a relaxed creative atmosphere, with light refreshments available. Open to everyone, the event aims to connect local residents and people from diverse cultural backgrounds through shared creativity
and a sense of community and belonging.

In NAVAN – The Cultur Culture Night Festival will bring together approximately 50–60 participants to celebrate cultural diversity in County Meath. The programme will include a welcome address, multicultural music, cultural music and dance performances, and displays featuring traditional
clothing, artefacts, crafts, flags, photographs, artwork, languages, customs and heritage. The event is open to everyone, with particular focus on migrant and minority ethnic communities, families, young people, women’s and men’s groups, older adults and local organisations. Through cultural exchange, networking and shared experiences, the festival will promote inclusion, understanding, respect and

In KELLS – Culture Night 2026 at Kells Printing Works – Drop by the new Kells Printing Works and take a step back in time when the written word was crafted by hand, ink and iron. You will learn about the entire traditional printing process, see our collection of historic cast iron presses and get an opportunity to pull a print.
