Management at Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan says all correct protocols and processes are being followed at the hospital’s temporary morgue facility.

It comes as the county morgue, which is on the hospital site, is currently undergoing refurbishments until November of this year.

The Ireland East Hospital Group previously said the service will be diverted to a local operator during this period and would continue uninterrupted.

Management at the hospital has now clarified that all remains are being kept in a refrigerated unit in a secure room and are still collected in a timely fashion.
