Ashbourne FG councillor Alan Tobin has taken to social media to welcome the provision of a new disability bench in the local playground.

He posted on Facebook

‘At last, our disability-friendly picnic bench is in place. This all-inclusive bench is located at the playground in Ashbourne. It was funded through my discretionary fund along with Ashbourne Tidy Towns.

‘It is wheelchair friendly and a wonderful addition to the playground at what is now called Frederick Bourne Park. A second bench will be installed in Deerpark at a proposed sensory garden being worked on by Prosper Meath. Big thanks to the outdoor staff in Meath Co Co for installing.’

As autumn painted the landscape with hues of red and gold, the Japanese maple tree in the backyard became a captivating focal point, its branches adorned with vibrant foliage.
