Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man near the Dublin/Meath border.
The man was found with unexplained injuries on the Old Navan Road in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15 at around 2.50am this morning.
The man in his early 60s was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead.
His body has since been taken to Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will take place today.
Gardaí say the results of the examination will determine the course of their investigation.
The scene remains sealed off this afternoon to allow for a technical examination to be carried out and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They particularly want to speak to anyone who was in the Blanchardstown Road North, Old Navan Road, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and surrounding areas between midnight and 3am this morning and observed any suspicious activity.
Any road users, particularly taxi drivers, or pedestrians who were travelling in the area during this time and have camera footage, including dash-cam footage, are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
